Skin rejuvenation in Pleasanton, CA, planned around the concern, not the device

Skin rejuvenation is the group of treatments that improve how skin looks and behaves: its tone, its texture, its pigment and its firmness. At Radiance East Bay Aesthetics in Pleasanton, it starts with a complimentary skin consultation with Darinka Morfin, LE, or Zayda Yeoh, NP, who looks at the skin in front of her before recommending a laser, a peel, a facial or microneedling. This page names the seven concerns people bring in most often, explains what is happening underneath, and points to the treatment that fits. Pick your concern below, or book the consultation and let the assessment decide.

What skin rejuvenation means here

Four things change in skin over the years, and almost every concern is one of them or a mix of two.

  • Tone. Redness, flushing and blotchiness that make the complexion look uneven.
  • Pigment. Brown spots, patches and marks left by sun, hormones or old breakouts.
  • Texture. Rough skin, enlarged pores, fine lines and scarring.
  • Firmness. Collagen declines with age, so skin loosens and lines settle in around the eyes, mouth and forehead.

A treatment that works on one of these does little for another. The old way of selling skin care was to pick a device and list everything it treats. We do it the other way round: name the concern first, then choose the treatment that suits your skin type and your tolerance for downtime.

The appointment

What to expect

  1. i

    Consultation

Darinka or Zayda examines your skin, asks about sun, hormones, medications and what you use at home, and names the concern. You leave knowing which treatment she recommends, roughly how many sessions, and the cost. Skin consultations are complimentary.

  2. ii

A plan, not a single visit

Most skin concerns respond to a short series rather than one appointment, and some pair two treatments. The plan says which, and in what order.

  3. iii

    Treatment

Sessions range from a facial you could take a lunch break for to a laser session followed by a day or two of redness. Each treatment page states its own downtime honestly.

  4. iv

    Home care

Daily broad-spectrum sunscreen, and a pause on harsh exfoliants and retinoids around each session. Sun protection is what keeps pigment from coming back.

  5. v

    Results

Facials show immediately. Lasers, peels and microneedling build over weeks as new collagen forms, with the best result at the end of the series.

Candidacy

Is skin rejuvenation right for you?

You are likely a good candidate if you:

  • have a spot, a patch, a texture or a looseness you can point to in the mirror
  • want a non-surgical treatment with little or no downtime
  • are willing to wear sunscreen every day, because every pigment treatment depends on it
  • want a plan built for your skin type, including darker skin tones that some light-based treatments cannot treat safely

If the change you want is lost volume in the cheeks or lips, that is a filler conversation. If it is expression lines across the forehead, that is Botox.

Cost

What affects the cost of skin rejuvenation in Pleasanton

The cost depends on which treatment your skin needs, how many sessions the plan calls for, the size of the area treated and whether two treatments are combined. A single HydraFacial and a series of laser sessions sit at very different points. The exact cost is given at the consultation, before anything is booked.

Radiance members receive a discount on aesthetic treatments, which matters most when the plan is a series. Payment plans are available.

  • "I initially started with Zayda to help address my aging skin concerns, ie, age spots, fine lines, wrinkles - just wanted to age a bit more gracefully. As such, we developed a proper skin care plan which soon evolved into a health care plan."

Questions

Skin rejuvenation questions, answered

Still unsure? The skin consultation is complimentary, and Darinka or Zayda will answer anything this page does not.

What is skin rejuvenation?

Skin rejuvenation is any treatment that improves the tone, texture, pigment or firmness of the skin, usually by stimulating collagen or removing damaged skin cells. At Radiance East Bay Aesthetics it covers lasers, IPL, microneedling, chemical peels, HydraFacial and regenerative boosters. Which one you need depends on the concern, so the consultation comes first.

Which skin rejuvenation treatment is best for my skin?

It depends on what is wrong and on your skin type. Pigment and redness usually point to LaseMD Ultra, IPL or a peel; texture and scars to microneedling or Laser Genesis; looseness to RF microneedling or Sculptra. Darinka or Zayda recommends one at a complimentary consultation after looking at your skin, not before.

Is laser skin rejuvenation safe for darker skin tones?

Some treatments are and one is not. LaseMD Ultra, Laser Genesis and both forms of microneedling are described as safe for all skin types. IPL is not suitable for very dark skin tones or recently tanned skin, which is one reason the consultation matters before anything is booked.

How many skin rejuvenation sessions will I need?

A HydraFacial works in a single visit, with monthly sessions to maintain it. Laser, peel and microneedling plans usually run as a series of three to six sessions spaced a few weeks apart, because collagen builds gradually. The consultation gives you the number for your plan.

Is there downtime after skin rejuvenation treatments?

It ranges from none to a few days. HydraFacial, IPL and Laser Genesis have no downtime. LaseMD Ultra leaves mild redness for a day or two, microneedling for one to three days, and a peel can flake for several days depending on its depth.

How much does skin rejuvenation cost in Pleasanton?

The cost depends on the treatment, the number of sessions, the size of the area and whether treatments are combined. Radiance East Bay Aesthetics gives you the exact cost at the consultation. Members receive a discount on aesthetic treatments, and payment plans are available.
